Photography: Taj Mahal

For the last year or so I’ve been playing with DSLR photography with my little new toy, Panasonic GH-1. This summer I happened to visit India, and naturally, couldn’t help but try my hand at photographing Taj Mahal. I’m learning a great deal about the raw format, wide lenses, and all sorts of other little things on landscape and architecture photography. Check it out!

From $300 to $30 million - sounds like a Hollywood story?

A previously unknown producer from Uruguay Fede Alvarez makes a 5 minute short called “Panic Attack” with awesome special effects on a shoestring budget, and gets a $30 million deal with Hollywood – read the story on Yahoo buzzlog . That is really amazing! And what’s most amazing to me is how much work he must have put into it. Of course, some SFX are a bit patchy, but for a small and (I’m guessing) volunteer crew that is a sign of a real passion. Now, here’s the video:

Serenity (2005)

The crew of the ship Serenity tries to evade an assassin sent to recapture one of their number who is telepathic. Netflix , IMDB Director: Joss Whedon STC Genre : Superhero “Special Power” – the weapon of a girl “Nemesis” – the Alliance “Curse” – the girl cannot control her power Very nice movie, at least for my tastes. A few usual Hollywood overkills like the Reavers, and some details perhaps are unnecessarily graphic, but otherwise quite well done.
